Teaching Philosophy
As an experienced instructor, I am passionate about higher education, interdisciplinary teaching, inclusive course design, and innovative curriculum development. I believe that the best classrooms are spaces of genuine intellectual curiosity — where students engage with diverse perspectives, connect theory to the lived realities around them, and aim to make a sincere contribution to society and the world.
My teaching draws on feminist, postcolonial, socio-legal and interdisciplinary frameworks to illuminate how power operates across gender, race, social class, nationality and other inherited and inhabited markers of identity. I aim to create an environment that is rigorous, authentic, and inclusive. Whether in a seminar on international relations, gender and global politics/policy, or a Hummingbird workshop on creative and policy writing, I encourage students to think across disciplinary boundaries — and to carry critical thinking practices beyond the university into their professional and civic lives.
